In the wake of the COVID-19 virus outbreak in the Coachella Valley, Vista Cove has initiated an action plan to ensure residents and staff remain healthy. Hand sanitizer is available at all entrances and all visitors will be screened prior to entering the community. Family members and friends of Vista Cove residents are discouraged from visiting and all activities coordinated by volunteers and outside entertainers have been cancelled until further notice in an effort to keep the number of people who enter the community and level of exposure to a minimum.
"We have taken these preemptive steps because given our residents' age and health conditions, they are more susceptible to not only the virus, but also colds, flu and pneumonia," said Jack Poyfair, LVN, Vista Cove's Executive Director. "We want the family members of residents to know that we are following the CDC guidelines. We are routinely disinfecting surfaces and encouraging residents to wash their hands and using hand sanitizer on residents who are unable to thoroughly wash their hands," he said.
Family members, friends and visitors of Vista Cove are encouraged to check cdc.gov for the latest updates and safety precautions.
